This routine initialises certain files and tables within DC1 Inventory Control. If you are installing DC1 Inventory Control, then you must initialise the system files in this function. Initialising the rest of the files through this routine is optional. By running this program, you establish the data required for making DC1 Inventory Control functional.
Note: You will not be permitted to run this program if records already exist for the selected warehouse in the Forecast file. In addition, you must set up the records in Work with sales order types before executing this program.
Select files to initialise
Set the fields below to YES for those files you want to initialise.
- Item file
- Set to YES to initialise the Item file. For each item/warehouse combination in the Warehouse file, a new record is created in the Inventory management item file. Note: Inactive records in the Warehouse file are created as inactive records in the Inventory management item file.
- Default
- Enter the default for the default that you created in the Item template default maintenance for inventory management warehouses. The values that you established for that default are used for each new record created in the Inventory management item file. The default you enter here must exist in the Item template defaults table.
- Replace existing
- If records already exist in the Inventory management item file, you can either overwrite them or add to them. Indicate if you want to overwrite existing records.
- Forecast file
- Set to YES to initialise the Forecast file. For each item/warehouse combination in the Warehouse file, the system creates a new record in the Forecast file. For each record, the system includes the historical demand values and the number of movements for each forecast period starting with the oldest active forecast period and continuing up to and including the present forecast period. Demand values and the number of movements are retrieved from the Invoice statistics file, and the Open sales orders file.
- Production demand
- Set to YES to initialise the Production demand file. The data from the DC1 Manufacturing bill of material will be loaded into the Production demand file.
- Inv control codes
- Set to YES to initialise the control code programs. For each control code program, the system creates one default record with basic methods and parameters in the Default control code class. The control code programs are:
- Work with forecast control codes
- Work with replenishment control codes
- Work with service control codes
- Work with purchase review control codes
- System files
- Set to YES to initialise the enquiry program table, the table and file printout program table and the Job control batch program table. The system performs four functions:
Function Description 1st All DC1 Inventory Control enquiry programs are added to the enquiry program table. 2nd All DC1 Inventory Control tables and files (that can be printed) are added to the table and file printout program table. 3rd All DC1 Inventory Control batch programs are added to the batch program table. 4th The Control code class table and the Probability file are loaded. Note: Initialising these files is required if you are running this program for the first time. If the ISP (DC1 Supply Plan) module is installed and activated, then the corresponding programs for ISP are also loaded by this function.
