The sub-heading of this panel differs depending on which option you selected on the previous panel. It can be one of the following:

  • Location types, pick units
  • Location types, put away units
  • Location types, stock count units

On this panel you can attach or detach preferred pick/put away/stock counts units for an item and location type combination. The panel displays all units defined for the selected item on the Units panel in the Item file.

Options

Attach Select this option to attach a pick/put away/stock unit to the item and location type combination.
Change This option is only displayed if the CONTAINR (Container handling) function is activated in the Function control file and is only applicable if the pick unit is attached to the location type. Select this option to enter/change the labelling code denoting the information that will be printed when container pick lists are printed. One label will be printed for each quantity in the container.

Selection fields

Item
Displays the item you are maintaining and its description.
Location type
Displays the selected location type.

Unit
This column lists the existing units for the selected item. Note: If one or several units already are attached, then only those are displayed on this panel to easily detach them. Should you want to view the units that are not attached to the selected item/location type, then set the Attached selection field to NO and click OK.

Attached
This column denotes if the unit is attached to the item/location type combination.
Default
This column is only displayed if the Stock count units option was selected on the previous panel. It denotes if the unit is defined as the default stock count unit for the item, which is retrieved from the Units panel in the Item file, but can be manually entered or changed.
Label
This column is only displayed if the CONTAINR (Container handling) function is activated in the Function control file. It displays the labelling code that was added to the pick unit, denoting the information that will be printed when pick lists are printed. One label will be printed for each pick unit and only one pick unit can be stored in one container. Depending on if the Label code is defined, it will work differently in the system.

  • If the label code is not defined and this pick unit will be used, that Pick label for the container will be not printed (neither automatically, nor manually). Pick labels for containers can only be printed when the label code is defined.
  • If the label code is defined and this pick unit will be used, that Pick label for the container will be printed automatically during pick list print and could be re-printed manually from the Work with containers file. With pick labels, there is one restriction: the container can store only one pick unit. For example, if there are 10 pieces in one SO line and 5 pick units are used for this, there will be 5 containers.

You can also manually print the container pick labels via the Print pick label option for the container in the Work with containers file.
