The Combined rules flag for the SPP price group (defined on the Work with item classification definition, Standard purchase prices, detail panel) and the SSP price group (defined on the Work with item classification definition, Standard sales price panel) is an important parameter which will dictate how characteristic value exceptions are treated.

Setting this value to NO has the following effect: | Keeping the YES setting (the default value) has the following effect: |

Example 1:
All items in the main group/Group combination of EuroArt/Sheet have a SPP or SSP of 1000 Euro/TON. However, for 90 grams, 50 Euro has to be added. If the Colour is Yellow, another 20 Euro has to be added.
Case 1: Combined Rules flag = No
Set-up is done as follows:
Line 10 + 50
GRM = 90
COLOUR YELLOW
Line 20 + 70
GRM = 90
COLOUR = YELLOW
Case 2: Combined Rules = Yes
Set-up is done as follows:
Line 10 + 50
GRM = 90
Line 20 + 20
COLOUR = YELLOW
Example 2:
All items in the Main group/Group combination of EuroArt/Sheet have a SPP or SSP of 1000 Euro/TON. However, for 90 grams, the price is 1250 Euro/Ton except for yellow where the price is 1220. These are fixed prices, thus we do not want to set these up using up-charges.
Case 1: Combined Rules = No
Set-up is done as follows:
Line 10 = 1250
GRM = 90
COLOUR YELLOW
Line 20 = 1220
GRM = 90
COLOUR = YELLOW
Case 2: Combined Rules = Yes
Set-up is not possible, since the price would always be 1220 (=last price) for 90 grams.
