Customer and supplier enquiry in DC1 Analyser

The following describes how you access basic customer and supplier information and how you can drill down to more detailed information.

The enquiry routines for customers and suppliers are identical. The instructions below describe the Customer enquiry. To access supplier information, substitute customer with supplier in all routines, commands, and results outlined in this example.

Note: Before you use the customer or supplier structure enquiry routines, make sure that you familiarise yourself with the standard routine for object enquiry described in About working with objects in DC1 Analyser, where you will find full details of the Multimedia functionality. See Getting started in DC1 Analyser for information about creating shortcuts to favourite functions.

Viewing customer information

  1. Select the Customers menu item in the Supply Chain Analysis or Financials Analysis sub-menu, Object categories list, or All functions list. (Note: To work with supplier information, Select the Suppliers menu item.)
  2. You access the Customer browser window. If you want to narrow down and run a customer search, you can complete one or more of the following entry fields:
  3. Code
    Enter the short code of the customer.
    Name
    Enter the full name of the customer.
    Area
    Select the customer area.
    Categories
    Select the customer category.
    Country
    Select the customer country.

    Click Find to run the search.

  4. You view the results of the search in the table list in the Customer browser window:
  5. To access more customer information, do as follows in the Customer browser window:

    1. Select the customer and choose Select or Select menu item customer.
    2. Or, click the customer with the right mouse button and choose Customer/Show/Details.
  6. You view the Customer enquiry window. From this window, you have access to a large amount of information from the Business partner file.
  7. Toggle the following pages to browse, and in some cases, drill down to further information.

    • Basic data
    • Classification
    • Invoicing information
    • Addresses, where you can view the registered address for the customer
    • Credit information
    • Profitability information, if such has been generated for the customer via the Profitability Analysis Tool

    The following commands are also available from the menu bar and when you click the right mouse button on a customer in the Customer browser / Supplier browser window, allowing you to view even more information about the customer / supplier. Some are also accessible by clicking an icon.

Customer/Show/Details   You open the Customer enquiry window for the customer.
Customer/Show/Balances You view the historical balance on the customer account.
Customer/Show/Payment statistics You view the customer payment statistics.
Customer/Show/Agreements You view an Object browser window in which you can select an agreement to view in detail.
Customer/Show/Transactions/Ascending/All You open the A/R Transaction browser in which you can view all transactions (settled, open and/or expired) for the customer in ascending chronological order.
Customer/Show/Transactions/Ascending/Open   You open the A/R Transaction browser in which you can view all open customer transactions in ascending chronological order.
Customer/Show/Transactions/Ascending/Settled   You open the A/R Transaction browser in which you can view all settled customer transactions in ascending chronological order.
Customer/Show/Transactions/Descending/All   You view all customer transactions in descending chronological order.
Customer/Show/Transactions/Descending/Open   You view all open customer transactions in descending chronological order.
Customer/Show/Transactions/Descending/Settled   You view all settled customer transactions in descending chronological order.
Customer/Show/AR Time Axis   You view the debtor’s balances by month, week or day in system and reporting currency. An exclamation mark indicates an overdue debt. This overdue status appears when the customer reaches a combination of the Max overdue days and amount (indicated in the Credit profile table). You also have the option to view the totals in Graphical format and, if there is no Overdue debt, hide the lines that do not hold a balance.
Customer/Show/Credit information   You view the customer’s credit information, from the A/R transaction enquiry, outlining the balances, payment statistics and credit time axis info.
Customer/Show/Address You open the Address view window in which you can view the full main address for the customer.
Customer/Show/All addresses   You view all addresses registered for the customer.
Customer/Show/Phone lines You view all phone information for the customer (i.e. any fax or telephone numbers).
Customer/Show/Orders/Ascending You open the Sales order browser where you view the sales orders for the customer in ascending order.
Customer/Show/Orders/Descending   You open the Sales order browser where you view the sales orders for the customer in descending order.
Customer/Show/Invoices/Ascending   You view all invoices for the customer in ascending order.
Customer/Show/Invoices/Descending   You view all invoices for the customer in descending order.
Customer/Show/Quotations   You view any quotations for the customer.
Customer/Show/Notes/Sales related   You view any sales related notes attached to the customer.
Customer/Show/Notes/Purchase related   You view any purchase related notes attached to the customer.
Customer/Show/Business partner request   You view any business partner requests for the customer
Customer/Show/Business partner structure   You view any business partner structures for the customer in the holding company. These structures outline the parent customers and subsidiary tiers. They are used to establish the best possible sales price of items as well as reference information that pertains to its credit profile.
Customer/Show/Profitability details You view the profitability details for the customer, if any exist.

Supplier/Show/Details   You open the Supplier enquiry window for the supplier.
Supplier/Show/Balances You view the historical balance on the supplier account.

Supplier/Show/Transactions/Ascending/Settled   You open the A/P Transaction browser where you can view all Settled transactions for the supplier in ascending order
Supplier/Show/Transactions/Descending/All   Same as Supplier/Transactions/Ascending/All above, but you view the transactions in descending order.
Supplier/Show/Transactions/Descending/Open   Same as Supplier/Transactions/Ascending/Open above, but you view the transactions in descending order.
Supplier/Show/Transactions/Descending/Settled   Same as Supplier/Transactions/Ascending/Settled above, but you view the transactions in descending order.
Supplier/Show/Address You open the Address view window where you can view the Supplier’s main address.
Supplier/Show/All addresses   You open the Addresses window where you can view all addresses registered for the supplier.
Supplier/Show/Phone lines You view all phone information for the supplier (i.e. any fax or telephone numbers).
Supplier/Show/Orders/Ascending You open the Purchase order browser where you view the purchase orders for the supplier in ascending order.

Supplier/Show/Text/Purchase related   You view purchase-related notes (if any).
Supplier/Show/Business partner request   You view any business partner requests for the supplier.
Supplier/Show/Business partner structure   You view any business partner structures for the supplier in the holding company. These structures outline the parent supplier and subsidiary tiers. They are used to establish the best possible purchase price of items.
