Create a standard, non-stock item from a configuration simulation

The following is automatically created for the new standard item:

  • Item code: If an item code mask is defined for the configurable item in the configurator item maintenance, the item code will be generated according to the mask. Otherwise you can enter a new item code manually during the item creation.
    Note: For the purpose of this task, the configurable item is set up with the item code mask as TABLE %P1, which means that the new standard item name will contain the word TABLE and the selected type of wood.
  • Item information: Information from the configuration, such as description, weights, item category and price, is automatically updated for the new item. Material and operations from the Basic data and the corresponding information from the configuration variant creates the bill of material and bill of routing.
  • Item class: The new item is automatically given the item class 2 (Non-stock item, standard).

After the creation of the new standard item you have the possibility to access the Item file maintenance program, where you can change the classification, description, etc., for the new item.

Note: You can also create standard items from the sales routine in DC1 Distribution and from DC1 Project Management. See Create a standard item from a configuration for more information.

  1. Select the Work with configurator simulations menu item.
  2. You access Work with configuration simulation. Select the applicable simulation and click Create standard item.
  3. You access Product configuration, Create standard item. Complete the following fields:

    4. Note: If you have defined an item code mask for the configured item, Item, Description and Internal name will be defaulted.

    Item
    Enter an item code for the new item.
    Description
    Enter a description of the new item.
    Internal name
    Enter an internal name for the new item.
    Maintain new item
    Indicate if you want to maintain the new item when it has been created. If you set this field to YES you will access the new item entry in the Item file where you can change the item information.

    Click OK. The simulation will be copied to a new item. Exit the routine.

    Tip: The Configurator item enquiry, Standard items displays all standard items that have been created for a specific configurator item.
