Enter a run priority for an operation

The operations within a specific work centre or department section can be assigned a run priority. This makes it possible to plan in which order the manufacturing order operations should be dealt with. Note: Several operations can have the same run priority. These can be put into a certain order using sequences. See Enter a run sequence for an operation for more information about how to add sequences to a run priority.

  1. Select the Plan manufacturing order details menu item.
  2. You access Manufacturing order detail planning. Complete the following fields:

    Enter a department section. If information is entered in this field, Work centre must be left blank. For this task, leave blank.
    Work centre
    Enter a work centre. If information is entered in this field, Department section must be left blank.
    Alternative
    Indicate what the detail planning should display by ticking one of the following: Total priority, Priority per day. For this task, tick Total priority.
    View
    Indicate what the detail planning should display by ticking one of the following: Time, Quantity, Tools or Current operation. For this task, tick Time.

    Depending on your choice, the next accessed panel will display different information:

    • Time: You will view the remaining time and the set-up time.
    • Quantity: You will view the remaining quantity.
    • Tools: You will view the tools and the production technology code.
    • Current operation: You will view the current operation, the work centre and the status.

    All these categories can be viewed by clicking Shift info on the next panel.

    Click OK.

  4. You access Manufacturing order detail planning, Total priority, op times in minutes/decimal. By default the system displays the operational time in minutes. You can click Minutes/Decimal to display the operational time in decimals.
  5. This panel displays operations for the current work centre, sorted in sequence of run priority (descending), run sequence and planned start date. Complete the following field:

    Enter the run priority for an operation. Permitted values range from 0 through 99, where 99 is the highest priority. You can enter a new run priority for several operations at the same time. You can also change an existing run priority by entering a new value.

Click OK.

The system updates the information and displays the new run priority. Tip: Click Refresh to refresh the information on the panel. The operations will be displayed in order of run priority. Exit the routine.
