Prerequisites
Scrapped items can be reported if the following conditions are met:

  • Backflushing material at operation report is set to YES in the Manufacturing order type table.
  • Floor stock code is set to 1 (Backflushing item) in Item file maintenance for the components.

Note: Scrap reporting is only allowed if the manufacturing order status is 10 or higher. If Allow rep without print shopfloor is set to NO in the Manufacturing order type table, the order status must be 20.

  1. Select the Report manufacturing orders menu item.
  2. You access Manufacturing order reporting which is the starting panel for the production reporting function. Production reporting refers to operations for used time, quantity of completed and scrapped items in the operation. Complete the following fields:
  3. Reporting date
Defaults with today’s date. Leave as is or change to the applicable date for the reporting.
    Reporting type
Indicate what reporting function is to be started by ticking one of the following: Operations, Other cost, Down time or Group order reporting. For this task, tick Operations.

    Click OK.

  4. You access Manufacturing operation reporting where you report the manufacturing order’s internal operations in terms of used time and produced quantity (i.e. approved quantity plus scrapped quantity). Complete the following fields:
  5. Optional entry

    Reporting date
You can, optionally, enter the time when reporting is done in the box to the right of this field. If you do not enter any time, then the current time is used for update on the operation. Note: This time textbox to the right of this field is only displayed if the MPL-TIME (Plan operation by date/time) function is activated in the Function control file.

    Mandatory entries

    Order number
Enter the manufacturing order number for which scrapped material is reported.
    Operation number
Enter the operation number to which the scrapped material is connected.
    Scrapped
Enter the scrapped quantity to be reported for this manufacturing order operation.
    Stock unit
Indicate if the quantity is entered in stock unit (set this field to YES) or structure unit (set this field to NO).
    Machine time
Enter the used machine time for the manufacturing order operation reporting.
    Operation complete
Indicate if this is the last reporting for this operation.

    Click OK. Exit the routine.

    Result
The following information has been updated during the manufacturing order operation reporting:

    • The order operation is updated to status 40. Scrapped and the cost- controlled value (WIP) are calculated for the machine time according to the cost model set-up. See About cost models for more information.
    • The material connected to the reported operation is issued according to the scrapped quantity and the cost model (WIP) is calculated.
    • The scrapped quantity order status is changed to 40. Current work centre and current operation will be updated according to the operation reporting. Note: If this is the first operation reporting, the Actual start date field will be updated on the Manufacturing order header as well.
    • The enquiry transactions for the operation reporting and the inventory transactions for the backflushed components have been created.
    • The bookkeeping transactions for the reported operations and the backflushed material are created according to the cost model set-up. Note: The backflushed material is created both with fixed transaction codes (901 and 770) and according to the cost model set-up.
