Define a calculated line

You will define the line EXPENSES % OF SALES, shown on the printout in About working with report lines.

  1. Select the Work with reports menu item.
  2. On the main panel, select the applicable line report and click Lines.
  3. On the Work with report lines panel, click Add.
  4. You access the detail panel. Complete the following fields:
  5. Line number
    Enter 110.
    Line text
    Enter “Expenses % of sales”.
    Line code
    Enter the line code. Enter 4 = Calculated line.
    Print code
    Enter a code to determine how the line should appear when printed. Enter 1 = Single underline.
    Blanks before
    Enter the number of blank lines that should precede this line. Enter 2.
    Calculation
    Enter a calculation formula, for example the formula total expenses line (L90) divided by sales line (L10) and multiplied by 100:
    L90/L10*100

    Click OK to update. If you have followed the instructions in all tasks included in this routine, then you have now defined the calculated line and all other lines for the report exemplified in About working with report lines. To print the report, see About printing reports for further information. Exit the routine.
