The main purpose of configuration information is to describe the object components. For example, a car may have components such as: a V8 engine, air conditioning, cruise control, four airbags, CD player, and so on.
Information that already exists in the Item file may be used (the Free text field below is set to NO) or if it does not exist, an item can be added using free text mode (the Free text field below is set to YES).
Note: Configuration information is for informational purposes only and is not used anywhere else in the system.
When you configure a service object the new information automatically updates the Object history log.
- Select the Work with service objects menu item.
- On the initial panel, select the object for which you want to configure service information and click Config.
- You access Work with service objects, Configuration information. Click Add.
- On the detail panel, the following fields are relevant:
- Free text
- If the item does not exist in the Item file set this field to YES.
- Item/text
- Enter the item name.
- Fitting date
- Enter the date when the item/free text was first attached to the service object.
Click OK to update. Exit the routine.
